INPRATEX NON-SPARKING TOOLS

Non-Sparking Tools made of Copper-Berylium alloy can be used in all groups (I, IIA, IIB, IIC) in a safe way, always respecting the maximun surface temperature allowed, with the only exception of acetylene, with which copper might react and create highly explosive acetylite gases.

Non-Sparking Tools made of Aluminium-Bronze alloy can be used in a safe way, always respecting the maximum surface temperature allowed, except for the IIC group (Hydrogen, gas of water, acetylene, bisulphide of carbon, Ethyl nitrate).

COPPER-BERYLIUM

Non ferrous substance in the composition makes it safer when non-magnetic applications are required.

ALUMINIUM-BRONZE

Mínima presencia de hierro, que hace que las herramientas no sean 100% no magnéticas. Apropiadas para aplicaciones de bajo magnetismo no críticas.

The choice of the most appropriate Non-Sparking Tool depends on two different concepts: MAGNETISM and DURABILITY

DURABILIDAD

 COBRE-BERILIO

Durabilidad muy grande debido a su gran dureza y a su resistencia a la tracción.

 ALUMINIO-BRONCE

No tanta como la aleación Cobre-Berilio

Items with copper composition higher than 65% should not be used in acetylene environments. Both Aluminium-Bronze and Copper-Berylium alloys do have copper compositions higher than 65%.

The reason is not that Copper-Berylium can create a spark with enough energy to create the ignition of acetylene, but that copper reacts with acetylene creating highly explosive acetylides.

For this reason, Copper-Berylium or Aluminium-Bronze alloys should not be used in acetylene environments.

Non-Sparking Tools cannot reach the hardness of conventiona tools. For this reason, the use of Non-Sparking Tools has to be carried out with special care, avoiding overstraining, heating, etc.

To avoid damage being caused to both tool and fastener, it is necessary to always ensure that the correctly sized spanner/wrench/screwdriver is selected. Due to the reduced strength and wear resistance of Non-Sparking alloys selecting the correctly sized tools becomes essential to avoid premature wear and early deterioration of the tool.

Non-Sparking Tools must not be the only preventive measure in areas which the items are designed for. Other items, clothes or present material must also be adecuate for non-sparking purposes.
